Oh, I'm so excited to able to finally reveal the last project I worked on at the quilt retreat a couple of weeks ago. So, here it is......
My BOM from Bunny Hill!!!! I have worked all of 2010 on this quilt and when I went to retreat I had all the snowmen blocks done. At retreat, I cut and pieced all the pieced blocks and added my borders. When I got home, I still had to put the appliques on the borders. I changed two stars out for hearts because I LOVE this quilt so much. It's bright and cheery and BLUE and PINK LOL! That's important because those are colors I do not work with...in fact, there is only one room in my entire house that I could hang this quilt and that's the sewing room (aka oldest sons old bedroom which just hasn't gotten a new color ) I do brown and yellow and red and black...not baby blue :) Still, I am in love with it and enjoyed every minute of making it. Thanks so much to Ann Sutton of Bunny Hill for her generosity in sharing her pattern and talent. Ann has a new BOM for 2011...you can check it out here. I have no idea how to quilt this quilt so it will be tucked away for future contemplation.
Another exciting project I started this week is the 2009 Designer Mystery BOM. I don't like the name so from here on in I have named mine Belle Noel. It was so exciting to open the package and get out the fabrics and start piecing. How do you like Block 1! I don't know if I am going to be able to control myself and keep to one block a month LOL!
Check out this wonderful fabric I won a few weeks ago Cindy's blog. It's called Splish Splash by me and my sister. And look at the sweet duckie buttons that go with it. I have a special baby quilt to use these in :)
And, as if that isn't enough LOL! I have a very, very good friend who I am so grateful for and she sent me a "just because" gift! Aren't those the best kind! I'm am so lucky to have her in my life. She made me the most beautiful little quilt in the whole wide world! In my colors!
It's just adorable and look at her wonderful machine quilting! Hugs hugs hugs to you Mary! I met Mary through blogging. In fact, I had followed her blog for about 9 months and reading about her quilting adventures inspired me to start my own blog a year ago. Mary's blog still inspires me everyday and getting to know her has been such a pleasure! We have the same quirky sense of humor LOL! My day has been bright and happy...hope yours was too:) Happy quilting!
