Never Let it Be Said!

Never let it be said that I don't know how to relax! LOL!  That's exactly what I've been doing for the past couple of weeks....just chillin' out :)  Of course, I had some kind of stomach bug in there, again!  The bad thing about too much relaxing is that it can be so addictive and it's hard to get back into the groove of things again! LOL and the beautiful weather we've been having doesn't help...I just keep thinking "Relax and enjoy it now because there's a long winter ahead".  I have been doing some quilting this month.

Here's my favorite Schnibble's so far....Gentle Art! I just love this little quilt.  I used some Kansas Troubles charms I had from a couple years ago.  All quilted and bound too!  Even washed so it's soft and crinkly like a quilt should be :)!

Here is Schnibble's Two Bits done in Fig Tree fabrics.  All quilt and bound and washed.  It's much more babyish looking than this picture shows.  I think I will be tucking this quilt away for future...waaayyy in the future!  I'm too young to be a grandmother yet!

I made this simple  baby size Rail Fence in boy colors last winter and it's finally quilted and bound.  This one is going to the quilt shop for sale.  Think $30 is too much to ask for it?  I free hand quilted stars on it :)

Now....let me tell you about my hubby...To say he's handy is understating it! LOL! He's downright genious....with a little help from me, of course :)...Most folks around know him as someone who can make something from nothing when it comes to recycling .....We recently had the chance to be given an old 1980's style hutch...just the top of it, not the bottom...dark wood, brass fixtures...the old dreary looking thing....ugly but solid wood under it all.  I jumped at the opportunity to take it, a friend was moving and didn't want the top anymore, she couldn't imagine what I was going to do with it!  She shoulda known better!  ;0

I lugged it home, it sat in the barn for a few months, hubby and I talked, contemplated, shopped around...I knew what I wanted to do with it from day one but it was other decisions about design and color that slowed us down.  I drew out a base design, we decided to reuse some leftover antique stair balusters from another recycle job, major sanding job, some construction and a paint job later.....Voila!  My absolutely gorgeous country hutch for my sewing room!!!! I can't wait to fill it up with fabrics and old sewing collections.  The only $ we spent on this project was $8 for some Gorilla glue because we were all out.  Thanks so much sweetie for all your hard work!  Happy Stitching!
