"S" is for Stupid!

I can't believe nobody noticed! or maybe you did and were just too polite to say anything :)  I didn't even notice until I started a new one last Wednesday night.  It's a big boo boo. One that means I will have to fix it or keep going and end up doing my own thing.  What did I do?
I appliqued February's Harrington and Hannah on wrong!  It was supposed to be appliqued so that the pot and grass was on the shorter end of the background not the longer edge like in January's block!!  So if I leave it, it means I will have to do my own figuring and layout.  If I fix it, then I can use Michelle's layout.  Serves me right!  I didn't read the first page of directions lol...I'm bad that way :)  I just printed off the pattern and started cutting and sewing.  Sometimes being non-conformist just ends up making you STUPID! lol! And believe me, I feeling pretty stupid right now....I am going to leave and do my own layout.  Call it laziness (not wanting to re-do the block) or call it non-conformist(doing my own thing)...either way, that block's staying just the way it is :)

Hope all your stitching is going better than mine !

Happy Stitching and God Bless!

Hi Shelley,

Just a thought, but could you trim and applique your work on to a block the dimensions of the original layout? What ever you decide, the final quilt will be "yours"!

From someone who always puts things on wonky or backwards, it looks fine to me, lol.

I reread the cutting instructions when March's block arrived. I'd cut (29) 2 1/2" squares and put my fabrics away. Michelle had typed 29from EACH fat quarter. Soooo had to cut 87 additional.

Oh, are we meant to read the instructions? Teehee, that's just the sort of thing I do.

OH no! I feel for you. If it were me I would have to do it over, it would drive me crazy forever not to. Is it possible to trim two sides and add some sashing to two other sides to get this block back to the correct size? Or, maybe you'll be able to swap this block with another one down the road and everything will work out fine size wise? Good luck!

I think your block looks beautiful just the way it is!

Well...the only thing is that it will throw off all the rest of the blocks in the future rows. Hmmm...is it easier to fix one block now or have to refigure all the math for all the rest of the rows? I think you should just redo the block the correct direction and turn this pretty block into a pillow! :)

Your block turned out great and I would not change it. You will be able to figure out just fine how you want to put it together. I spilled something on my block and my red hearts faded. I was able to get some of it out but the haze of red around the hearts is just going to be there, I don't plan to do it over.
