Coming up for Air!

I bet you thought I had fallen off the ends of the earth, right?!  Well, I feel like I've been to the ends of the earth and back again! LOL!  There's been lots of sewing and quilting going on here at Red Quilts central and time flies when creativity is going on!  Yeah, that sounds good...we'll go with that LOL!

Now some answers for some very curious and important people...my followers! I had such a great response to my last quilt and questions about it, so here goes:
1.  This quilt will finish at 70" x 70" but there are size options for wall and queen.
2. The pattern is actually found in a book....called Simple Stars Beautiful Quilts by Debbie Maddy.  This quilt has patterns for the Carpenter's Star, the Bali Star and the Broken Star from size of wallhanging to King...not in all styles though.  I bought the book a while ago at a quilt shop...can't remember where but I would imagine it is available to buy online.

My finished top!! Honestly, it took longer to put those borders on than to piece the quilt centre.  I like my borders to be very exact so they won't wave and that means lots of measuring thru the centre and cutting exact lengths and lots of pinning but it is way worth the extra work to have true borders especially for quilts that will hang on a wall.  This one is slotted for the living room.  And the HST blocks...I think they finish at about 8".  Oh, what colors to do next...hhhmmm??? I really want to get this one thrown on Lily and quilted soon:)  And yes, Connie, that would be you!! LOL!  A Christmas one would be nice or one done in spring colors or one done in 1930's....Happy Stitching!

Pretty, pretty! I like the interior scrappier border and the black around the outside really sets it off perfectly. I see there is a show coming up in Woodstock in May, will you enter this?

The quilt is beautiful! I understand why it takes awhile for you to put on the borders, I do the same thing. I don't like to have wavy borders so I measure and pin lots! Thanks for the information about the pattern.....it looks like a good one. I can't wait to hear what you choose to do next :-)
