Back in the Groove!!

Oh my goodness it feels so good to be back into sewing again!  When I get sew time, I feel like everything is alright in my world.  I have lots of things to show you ....mostly UFO's and a few WIP's...we have so many new fabrics in the shop right now and it's SOOOOOO HARD! TO KEEP MY HANDS OFF!  LOL!  I just want to start all kinds of new projects and bring home all the fabrics!  Gotta stay strong and keep using out of the stash too!
A pillow I made using the English Paper Piecing method for making the Grandmother's Flower Garden block.  This is a class I am offering at the shop.  I just love the colors!
My Schnibbles Sunday Best made with Civil War Reproductions...it too is at the shop, don't you love the sign!

All my Bunny Hill blocks done!!! This was so much fun and now I have to make the connecting blocks which will be easy!
The woolie snowman I started back in November...kinda lost interest in it then decided on Monday that it NEEDED to get DONE!  LOL!  He's cute but I don't think he's going to stay at Red Quilts...he needs another home.
My easy peasy Pinwheel that I did the centre of in December using two charm packs to make the pinwheel blocks.  This week I added borders and LOVE IT!  It's sofa size and goes so well with my living room.  I love the KT fabric in the border and have been waiting for something to use it on.  I have just enough left for the binding if I cut the strips 2" and sew the binding on closer than usual LOL!
A closer look...Love the red fabric in this border too!  My wonderful Mr. RQ bought me some planted tulips on the weekend to cheer me.  They were just buds and look at them now....all wild and popping out!  Crazy things  make me smile everytime I look at them!  I hope I can keep the thing alive until planting time in spring..I can kill a plant indoors quicker than you can blink!

A close up of the bud...the card with the plant says that this tulip forms large cup-shaped blossoms and it definitely does!  A little more so than the average tulip but then again, I don't know much about plants.  Basically, I put them in the ground and pray for the best LOL!, hoping I bought something safe and not poisonous LOL!

I am going on quilt retreat the first week of February and can't wait!!!! I NEED some time for me and to really have some intense sewing time.  All my meals are homecooked for me, no dishes, no phones, no TV, no laundry, no making my bed and I may even consider not getting out of my Pj's...NOT! LOL!  But, you get the picture...4 whole days and 3 nights!  I better not get sick!!!!!

Happy Stitching!  Shelley

I have a longarm retreat to attend the first days of March....seriously looking forward to all the meals cooked too! It is a fun getaway though we don't piece and just sit and sew...lots of classes and such leaves my head spinning with ideas by the end.
