This Side of Normal

Okay...I think I am finally getting better and starting to feel more normal, although "normal" is not a term most people would use when describing me! LOL! That was one mother of a cold!  Don't you find colds are different now than when we were kids?  I guess those little germs have mutated along with everything else. Thank you everyone who sent Get Wells!

The sucky side of being so sick is THAT I DIDN'T GET ANY SEWING DONE!!!  I was starting to get depressed just from not being able to do any stitching or cutting or piecing or quilting; and, even though, logically, I knew it was because I was so sick, illogically, I was whining inside from the lack of creative stimulation.  Okay, maybe, just maybe I was whining on the outside too LOL!

Yesterday, I finally got to MAKE something!!!  and better yet, something Christmasy!  We have this red toweling at the shop and I have been wanting to use it forever and this was the day!  I came up with my own candy cane and holly design, frayed the towel edges and Voila!  I'm so happy with it!
I used Yo Yo's for the berries but you could use wool, buttons, or fabric circles.  I like a 3D effect on things once in a while and have a little weakness for yoyo's.

AND, a little of this was gifted into my life last week!
A FQ selection of my BLISS! LOL! I think the only thing nicer than Bliss would be Bliss AND Dark Chocolate LOL!

I have so much blog reading to catch up on...I read one or two last week but then I would have to go lay down, so I just gave up on it!  Anything new out there I really NEED to know about?

Happy quilting and cold free wishes going out to all of you!:)

I am glad you are feeling better and able to get back to sewing. I cannot sit still, even sick, so i usually do stitchery.

I with the rank and file who are glad you are back and in the game! And normal, by the way, is WAY overrated!! LOL The Bliss is aptly named, isn't it!! I have about 12 yards of the white-on-white background from the line...Scrumptious stuff!
Blessings,
Mary Lou

Happy to hear you're feeling better, Shelley. Being sick sucks!

Love your tea towel. I made a couple last year that I gave as hostess gifts to special friends and they were big hits.

We'll be passing by your place on Friday on our way to NS for the closing of our house. Listen for the honks as we pass by Woodstock. *wink*
