Chit Chat

Did you smell smoke on the weekend? That was me getting lots done!  The fingers and the sewing machine were running on high speed and I swear smoke was coming out of the sewing room lol!  Oh, it's been so long since I sat and sewed for 6 hours but I can tell you, I sure paid for it yesterday...my back was killing me and my foot I use for the gas pedal on the sewing machine...the whole joint across where my toes connect to my foot ..I could hardly bend them :) Yep, it was GOOD!!! And isn't what they invented Motrin for LOL!

I taught wool classes last fall and this tablerunner was one of the projects. I finally got it finished...it just needed to have the back cut out and then blanket stitched around the outer edges.
Now, that I can see the closeup, I realize I forgot to put buttons on the snowmen's bellies....rats, still not done :(
Knitting scarves to sell at quilt show...I know, what do scarves have to do with quilts but I know they will sell and I can knit one in an evening.
Would you believe these 20 blocks were just cut out pieces when I started my 6 hour sewing spree! Yep, they were :) And, we're not going to talk about the fact that the pieces have been cut since last September, no, no we're not LOL! And it feels so good to have them ready for sashing.
Have you noticed the lack of "join in"  or "sew alongs" or BOM in blogland this January. I know a couple going on...one with Nicole and one with Pam Buda but that's all I've seen.  Last year it was hard to pick which ones to participate in!  Am I not looking in the right places or are quilter's just hunkering down and finishing all those UFO's? Is it a sign of how hard times are or is everyone just played out offering to host these things? I know it takes a lot of work and time to put things like this together.  What's your take on it all?

Quiltingly, Shelley

I knew I was smelling smoke but couldn't figure it out where it was coming from. It definitely wasn't coming from my sewing room. LOL

I'm glad you got to sew, sew, sew and sew some more. Have fun!

Very good looking block. Don't think I've seen that pattern before. Keep that machine humming!

Those are wonderful projects. Love doing more in the winter, nice way to spend a day and out of the cold.

Boy, you really have been busy. Love the snowman even without buttons on his belly. Keep up the good work.

I love the snowmen, even without their belly buttons, and the scarf looks great.
